Preparing Your Home For The Holidays In Colorado Springs

Home For The Holidays In Colorado Springs

As the holiday season draws closer every day, it is essential to prepare your home for the holidays in Colorado Springs. All sorts of visitors may be frequenting you in person or virtually by video calling. Whether friends or family members, there are specific ways that you can welcome them into your house and prepare your home itself for their visit.

If possible, try to take steps before the holidays to prepare for this influx of people visiting in person or by video to share the holidays with you.

Here are some recommendations for preparing your home for the holidays in Colorado Springs:

Refresh Main Gathering Areas – Whether the living room or holiday party hosting room, you want to ensure that these main areas are clean and ready for visitors. Vacuuming floors and furniture is a great start. After the initial cleanup, you can use flameless candles, furniture arrangements, wall art, seasonal decor, lighting, or plants/flowers to create a festive environment. Placing hand sanitizer around your home helps visitors keep their hands clean and reduces the spread of germs.

Use Seasonal Scents – Scent is the most vital sense tied with memory. You can use scents that you associate with holidays, such as fresh-cut pine trees, peppermint candy canes, cinnamon sticks, and cloves. Other seasonal favorites could include vanilla, gingerbread, pumpkin, or apple pies.

Ensure Your Front Door Is Ready – Ensure your door is clean and free of debris so that it can let in a welcoming first impression to your guests. Be sure to place a welcome mat at your door that’s functional and decorative. You might also consider adding wreaths or garlands around your front door or decorating your front porch.

Create A Welcoming Foyer – Make sure that your foyer is prepped for guests ahead of time, so they can enter into a space that feels welcoming. You may want to consider adding holiday décor to make this area festive and functional by having coat racks set up for coats/jackets, umbrella holders, or boots.

Enhance Your Guest Bathroom – Make sure to give your guest bathrooms a good scrub down before the holidays. A quick refreshing of hand towels, soaps, and toilet paper can go a long way. You could also consider adding colorful or holiday-themed plush towels.

Prepare Your Dining Areas – If you are hosting events, you’ll want to provide dining areas for guests to eat or drink. Ensure that your dining areas are free of clutter and debris. You can also enhance the appearance by adding holiday decorations such as table runners, placemats, place settings, glassware, and silverware.

Make Your Kitchen Prepared – If you have people visiting your house for a meal or party, then you want to make sure that your kitchen is clean and prepared. Although, for example, you may use disposable or holiday dishware or prepare some dishes ahead of time to save time.

By following these helpful recommendations, you can be sure that you’re ready to celebrate the holidays in style.
