Wow!  What a wonderful and much needed rain!  I cannot wait to see how beautiful the town and pastures are going to look after this.  When Mike and I came to Colorado Springs in July of 1991 (we were very young!), it was really love at first sight.  The grass was waiving in the wind, the summer seemed cool because we had spent June in Texas where Mike was convinced that something was always either trying to bite him or stick him.  I never really asked if he was referring to the native plants and animals or my family.  That one could go either way.  Love at first sight can happen for a sport.  Mine love is playing basketball and riding horses, Mike's was football and wrestling then moved into motorcycle racing, our daughter and my sister's is  volleyball and riding, our son’s is soccer and running..there is a sport that just fits you like an event in track, there is one you just intuitively love to do.  Love at first sight can happen for a granite countertop, a backsplash, a car, a mate, a piece of land, or a home.  You know how you “just know”.    No one else might feel it but you do and it’s unexplainable.  If you don’t love it, no one can make you love it or you might just end up compromising.  Then, there is that constant doubt, but you feel you made too much of a monetary commitment to change and then you need constant confirmation for your choice.  We see this in housing all the time.  So, what does it take to “fall in love” with a home.  20 seconds.  Yes, first impressions matter in everything; from dating, job interviews, and…..real estate listings. 

Researchers have now started tracking eye movements and found that 95% of users viewed the first photo of a real estate listing (showing the exterior) for a total of 20 seconds.  Without this eye catching photo, it’s over before it began.  You have to  catch the attention on the first photo, then the eye does a  “Z” pattern from left to right, and get this, SKIPS ALL OUR WONDERFUL TEXT, and goes to the bottom left across to the right to finish viewing the photos.  All our script, especially if in capital letters, is not even read by 75% of the users.  This is extremely important because the first point of contact, for most people, is through the internet.  Love at first site (get it, not a typo!), it either piques your interest or it doesn’t.  So, special attention to photos is a must and, by coincidence, we provide the service of having  the maximum number of  photos allowed per the site.
